![]() I won't go into details as to why this problem cropped up now, but the short version is that I've been dual-booting OSs, and this has been the backup for a year. Everybody’s favorite junk and privacy cleaning tool CCleaner has as option already built in to. Windows 7, 64 bit (downloaded online from a student resource website for ITT-Tech)Īudio card is a brand new sound blaster recon. So you can safely remove the backup folders for updates that are more than a few weeks old, and recover the lost disk space which could run into hundreds of Megabytes. (Along withĪll the stuff you have to do AFTER the reinstall.) Which I am loathe to do because that will mean I have hunt down my (student) activation key (I think), as well as rebuild the flash drive install file. Some of the 'suggested' fixes for this I've hunted down include - Reinstall Windows 7. (Failed to play test tone, and Creative diagnostic said 'directsound failed'.) On top of this, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 doesn't like me either, and it looks like it might have fixes to the issues I'm having with audio. ![]() These updates (according to update history), so I can't do the simple click uninstall. The 'installed updates' feature flat out does not work and remains blank despite having all The restore point is gone since WIN7 stacked over a dozen more on top of it and pushed it out. I need to manually remove this update (KB974571) from my computer.
